Submissions open for 2023 BRISMES Annual Conference
We are delighted to announce that submissions are open for the 2023 BRISMES Annual Conference! The conference will take place from 3 to 5 July 2023 and will be hosted by the University of Exeter. We invite proposals on the theme of Ecology, Crisis, and Power in the Middle East and encourage submissions from scholars across the social sciences and humanities and professionals working in the environmental field.
In addition to the conference’s main theme, we warmly invite complete panels or individual paper proposals on any topic related to the Middle East and North Africa. Please submit proposals for individual papers, complete panels of 3-5 papers, and/or roundtable discussions. Submissions from the Global South, from the Middle East region, and from people from under-represented backgrounds are especially welcomed.
The main working language of the conference is English. However, BRISMES accepts the inclusion of panels/roundtables in non-English languages spoken in the MENA region. If you would like your panel/roundtable to be considered for a non-English language slot in the programme, please indicate this in your submission.
Please note that paper abstracts must not exceed 250 words and must be received by 17:00 (GMT) on Wednesday, 21 December 2022, in order to be considered.
